Gippsland
Links
is
delighted
to
inform
our
presales
purchasers
and
our
friends
at
the
Sale
Golf
Club
of
the
most
significant
breakthrough
in
the
water
and
wastewater
issues.
The
concepts
proposed
for
this
development
are:
·
A
potable
water
treatment
plant
and
associated
reticulation
to
provide
drinking
water
quality
water
for
kitchen
and
hand
basin
use
(ie:
meeting
the
requirements
of
the
Victorian
“The
Safe
Drinking
Water
Act”).
The
construction
of
this
system
would
be
undertaken
before
Stage
1a
;
·
Permanent
water
harvesting
for
each
residence,
the
golf
club
house
and
resort
via
rain
water
tanks
for
water
supply
to
laundry,
bathroom
(showers/baths/spas/hotwater)
(In
line
with
the
Victorian
Government
document
“
Rainwater
use
in
and
around
the
house”
–
part
of
the
“Our
Water
Our
Future”
series;
·
A
Low
Pressure
System
for
the
collection
and
transfer
of
wastewater
in
the
development,
to
a
locally
based
Class
A/Class
C
wastewater
treatment
plant;
·
A
“two
pipe”
reticulation
system
to
allow
for
reuse
of
treated
wastewater
for
golf
course
watering,
toilet
flushing,
garden
watering
and
fire
services;
and,
·
A
stormwater
harvesting
process
to
provide
additional
water
to
the
treated
wastewater
system.
This
system
is
innovative
and
provides
a
modern
solution
to
the
water
and
wastewater
issues
at
the
development.
The
water
management
solution
meets
state
Government
guidelines.
The
wastewater
concept
has
been
prepared
for
submission
to
the
EPA
for
approval
that
our
consultants
expect
will
be
forthcoming.
The
persistently
flooded
Latrobe
floodplain
makes
previous
agreed
concepts
with
Gippsland
Water
Corporation
not
viable
in
the
short
term.
Because
the
Longford
region
is
not
a
designated
water
and
sewer
area,
we
are
advised
that
we
do
not
require
the
Gippsland
Water
Corporation
input
on
this
integrated
water
management
system.
The
system
will
be
built
to
the
highest
world
standards
by
Laurie
Curran
Water
and
owned
by
the
Vantage
Point
Residents
Association.
Hence
the
purchasers
are
likely
to
enjoy
significant
savings
on
water
rates
and
have
a
water
quality
and
taste
that
we
believe
will
attract
people
to
the
development.
The
concept
has
the
advantage
of
increasing
water
access
to
Sale
Golf
Club
beyond
261ML
and
protecting
that
water
supply
against
salinity.
We
have
provided
the
redevelopment
committee
with
a
study
on
likely
water
requirements
(160ML
per
year)
to
irrigate
the
course.
